The beginning of fennel pear salad, a true favorite.
Blue Sky Ranch butternut squash and brussel sprouts roasting in the oven.

Vegan, Organic chocolate chip cookie dough.
YUM!
The delicious Alpine beer. Exponential Hoppiness
and Duet.
What the butternut squash was turned into. Topped with fresh parsley.
The happy well fed group of friends.
Pre-paddle
Post-paddle
Every year Surfrider puts on an event that gathers hundreds of people to
lovely Ocean Beach where we paddle around the longest concrete pier on the west coast.
The paddle is held to promote keeping our oceans clean.
So come down to OB next year and participate with us and then come over for dinner!

Backyard Renovations

Nate Rototilling the backyard. A dusty job but someone has to do it (and well, I don't want it to be me).
The view from our backstairs into the yard.
Meghan and I moving around 18 yards of free mulch.

Backyard work is always the best when Mr. Pib is there to help.

As you can see we have a lot more work to do, so stay posted and see the change happen!

Enjoying a bite of our preferred produce.
Jade- Fig
Nate- Arugula
A stand from the Bainbridge farmers market.

Fields of pumpkins. I love this time of the year!

Fine Friends & Tasty Beers~

The wonderful couple Emily and Jeff.
The people that inspired our recent trip to the Pacific Northwest!

A hibiscus sour cherry beer.
YuM
Some of the fresh hops used at Deschutes Brewing Co.
The bottling of Green Monster. Deschutes new
sour beer. Bottled on their own separate sour
beer bottling line.

Just some of the fine beers we drank along the way.

MT. Rainier National Park

Thats the peak ~ 14, 411ft high. If only we could capture the whole mountain on camera.
Well, you will just have to go see it with your own eyes.
What an amazing site!

On a hike at about 7,000ft there is still this much
      snow just off the trail.
Pretty impressive glacier!

Our little marmot friend was chilling up at the high elevation just eating some lunch.

Comet Falls, an amazing 320 foot high waterfall.

Fun times in Oregon!

There are so many waterfalls in Oregon, it is so lush with green ferns and trees
and the air is so fresh to breathe.

A vast lava field (over 20 acres) was such a crazy site to see.
If you are ever in central Oregon drive highway 242-Mckenzie Pass and you can see what I am talking about.

The view from Devils Peak.  Trees for as far as the eye can see!

San Juan Islands, WA

The sunset view from the highest point on Ocras Island, Mount Constitution.
The San Juans consists of 128 named islands and is a great area for
 marine wildlife viewing.

During our short stay we did a couple hikes, slept in a yurt and went kayaking.

Our lovely rental car dressed nicely with kayaks.

A great place to stay on Orcas. Good food, edible
garden and located in a beautiful spot.

We were blessed with great weather which translated to some amazing sunsets.

My mouth is wide open because I am telling you
"Go experience the Pacific Northwest!"
